Spring Update from Hattie’s

As winter has given way to spring, the space at 607 has slowly transformed before my eyes. While at times the changes have felt slow, we've really come so far in just a matter of months. A business owner told me a few months ago that things would start clicking into place all at once and I feel like we might be entering into that season of Hattie's.

Whereas winter brought with it some dead ends & frustrations, spring has brought new hopes & possibilities. As we stand at the brink of summer I see a huge mountain I need to climb and I'd be lying if I told you it wasn't causing me some sleepless nights.

There are so many hats to wear, jobs to do, and decisions to be made.

  • Our building permit was approved! Plumbing, electrical and building out the space can begin!

  • We're still waiting to know when the parking lot excavation can begin. Eager to hear the numbers and get on the books for that.

  • We received the loan from Bankable for our equipment & furniture!

  • Everyday the property becomes more magical to me. There is wild asparagus, blackberries, and all kinds of treasures in the forest.

Hattie's is definitely a labor of love and I know I'll look back on this season of "before opening" with a lot of fondness. It'll be really nice to be making money however. Ain't no doubt from me on that part.

I've been waiting for the moment when it will feel real- that this is happening, and we're opening up a coffee shop here- and I think I've actually realized I've felt that all along.

Even in the moments of uncertainty, and setbacks- I knew when I first stepped on the porch that this was it. It's been such a leap of faith, and I'm so glad you're here taking it with me.

These are just pictures I took tonight as I walked the property in-between emails and working. Isn't it gorgeous?!
